About us and the local area

Kingshouse Hotel & Cottages

The Kingshouse Hotel is located at the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area of Scotland renowned for its beautiful landscapes. This area is largely forests, hills and open mountains providing excellent opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast while to the north are the Southern Highlands, Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe.

Historically The Trossachs is the small wooded glen bordered by Ben Venue to the south, Loch Katrine and Loch Achray to the west and east respectively, and Ben A'an to the north. But even in Sir Walter Scott's day, it was taken to include a wider area, and now in the days of tourism stretches from Loch Lomond in the west to Callander in the east, and from to Aberfoyle and the Loch Ard Forest to the south, and in the north bounded by the Balquhidder and Crianlarich Hills.

Our scenic location allows for easy access to major town and cities including Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Dundee.
